TOUR OF THE ALPS 2025: THE CYCLING SPECTACLE COMES TO THE MOUNTAINS OF TYROL, SOUTH TYROL, AND TRENTINO
From April 21 to 25, the Alps will witness a new edition of the Tour of the Alps, with the last three champions at the starting line, 16 international teams, five stages of pure spectacle, and global television coverage.
Trento, April 9, 2025 - Everything is ready for one of the most exciting events on the international cycling calendar, with the entry of Caffè Italiano Bocca della Verità as the main sponsor this year. The Tour of the Alps 2025, heir to the historic Giro del Trentino, returns from April 21 to 25 to offer five days of high-level cycling, crossing three regions united by their love for this sport: Tyrol (Austria), South Tyrol, and Trentino (Italy).
A luxury lineup: the reigning champion Juan Pedro López (Lidl-Trek) will defend his crown against two former winners, Romain Bardet (2022) and Tao Geoghegan Hart (2023). Big names like Giulio Ciccone, Felix Gall, Jai Hindley, Hugh Carthy, Chris Froome, and Spaniards Iván Romeo and David de la Cruz will also be at the start. Spain, in the spotlight with Juanpe López leading a powerful Lidl-Trek team, has fans eager to see if the Sevillian can repeat his victory in this challenging mountain race, a perfect prelude to the Giro d'Italia.
Five stages, three countries, one passion.
The 48th edition of the Giro starts from the enchanting hamlet of San Lorenzo Dorsino, one of the “Most Beautiful Villages in Italy,” and will conclude on April 25 in Lienz (Austria), after surpassing legendary passes like Campo Carlo Magno and the Passo del Durone. The five stages add up to almost 750 km and over 15,000 meters of elevation gain, making it a race suitable only for the strongest riders.
A race that goes beyond sport.
The Tour of the Alps is not just competition: it is also culture, sustainability, and social commitment. This year, the event will pay tribute to Sara Piffer, a young promise of Italian cycling tragically lost in January, with a special ceremony on April 22 in Mezzolombardo, calling for greater safety for cyclists on the road. Moreover, initiatives like Ride&Dunk with Aquila Basket Trento or the virtual platform Rouvy LiveUphill Challenge allow fans from around the world to experience #TotA from within, even from home.
Live broadcasts in over 100 countries
Thanks to the partnership with Infront Sports & Media, the Tour of the Alps will offer two hours of live broadcasting every day on Rai, Eurosport, and over 100 broadcasters in Europe, America, and Asia. In France, it will be broadcast by L'Équipe TV, in the United States by FloSports, and, for the first time, it will also reach Israel.
A commitment to the future with great allies
Among the new features of this edition is the inclusion of Caffè Italiano Bocca della Verità as a sponsor. With strong financial and logistical support, it will also provide its coffee to the cyclists and teams during the five days of racing. With the support of its special “HERMES” blend for athletes, it will assist the athletes during their tough days on the tour. The group of sponsors is complemented by others providing technical support, such as Vittoria, which will once again be responsible for neutral assistance service during the race, and Alé Cycling, in charge of designing the official jerseys. Additionally, companies like Melinda, Gruppo Cassa Centrale, Würth, FORST, and innovative firms like Bazr, Axpo, or FantaCycling will allow fans to race virtually with their fantasy teams.
